Electrical Basics
Car electronics are not that hard to work with, but if you have not done much wiring work, here are some basics of electricity and car electrical systems. This is a very basic introduction, suitable for simple applications like getting power to new mods.
Wires transmit power using a flow of electrons. The electrons flow from the negative side of a voltage source like a battery or alternator to the positive side. The voltage source then moves them to the negative side so they can travel around the circuit again.
