Understanding the IOT

The tech industry is often guilty of pushing technology solutions to consumers without focusing on the benefits, the emotions and simplicity. The IOT, on the other hand, is a pithy catchphrase, but by itself, it means very little when it comes to actually buying, implementing, or solving something. The IOT is a neologism coined by Kevin Ashton1 to encapsulate a number of related concepts.
