In this chapter, you will learn some core tools and terminology along with enough conceptual material to get you through the book and be able to comprehend the more difficult and technical chapters that come later in the book. I will also introduce some other key concepts that are not themselves the core principles and standards we will be learning about, but more of the surrounding “plumbing,” if you will, that will help you get started in a real-world setting. Some of this chapter will be the theory that I have deemed worthy enough to mention.
