Special-Purpose Servers
If a server will be put to a specialized use, you may need to configure it differently. The principal server specialties and their special setup needs appear in the next sections.
Mail Servers
Mail servers are the custodians of the users' mail databases. Notes mail databases include standard email functions as well as calendaring and task management functions. Many users live inside these applications. They create mail messages, tasks, and calendar entries. They receive messages here from others. They usually save a copy of everything they send. Their mail databases can get quite large.
