Upgrading Databases, Directories, and Search, Security, and Monitoring Tools
After you have upgraded your server and workstation software to R5, there are miscellaneous other upgrades you can perform, including database file format, database design, directory, search, and security upgrades. Most of these are not urgent. You can function just fine without them. But they represent great new functionality; so you don't want to put them off forever. Two upgrades you do not want to put off are of the database file formats and the mail database designs.
