Chapter 9. Replication

Replication is one of Domino's great strengths. It is the key to Domino's distributed architecture, in which multiple, peer copies of databases can reside on multiple Domino servers as well as on users' workstations. This makes it possible for users to access any copy of a database that is currently handy. They can read from and write to any copy of the database, to the extent of their access right. Over time, replication distributes their additions, edits, or deletions—and everyone else's—to the other copies of the database.
