Creating New Replicas
In the preceding bullet list, one of the recommendations was to minimize the number of replicas of a database in order to minimize the opportunity for replication conflicts and to minimize the demand that replication makes on a network. The implication of that recommendation is that replicas are bad. But that would be an unwarranted conclusion. Within reason, creating replicas of databases is a good thing. The benefits of adding new replicas of a database include the following:
