Directory Assistance
Directory Assistance is a service by which Domino makes multiple directories easily available to both Notes and LDAP users for lookup purposes. Some, but not all, of the benefits it provides are duplicated by directory catalogs. So, whether you need to enable Directory Assistance or not depends on why you need it. Although we discussed the relative merits of Directory Assistance and Directory Catalogs earlier in this chapter, I'll reiterate the benefits that only Directory Assistance provides:
It provides address lookups in third-party LDAP directories for Notes clients.
It provides referrals to third-party LDAP directories for LDAP clients.
