Moving Users
In contrast to the move to new certifier process that we just discussed, moving users to a new server actually does involve moving something. Because a user can authenticate with any of our servers, as long as they have access, there is no real concept of home server except as it applies to our mail files. In fact, it is entirely possible that a user logs in or authenticates with a passthru server, but his mail file resides on a server elsewhere.
Let's say that in our previous example, besides renaming Bob Dobbs with the Philly certifier, we need to move his mail file to the server in our Philly office, "Harrier." We could just move the file, but Bob wouldn't know that it had been moved. There are a number of steps that we could ...
