Introduction

The Notes client for Release 5 introduces many new features and places a new face on others. The administrator is frequently required to provide end-user technical support. Usually, this means being both a troubleshooter and tutor.

This chapter provides an overview of the Notes client for the administrator. Many of the new features are touched on. However, discussion is limited mostly to items of interest to an administrator. When dealing with a user's questions and problems, the administrator is expected to know something about everything in Notes. In this chapter, we also start by covering a few of the tools available from Lotus to help you keep your users working.
