Four members of my team were recently interviewed and asked four questions about their experience of working with me. I did consider carefully whether to include their answers here. On some level it felt like potentially blowing my own trumpet too much, because I was overwhelmed when I read their answers; so humbled and flattered by their positive comments. I also considered combining them into a short paragraph, giving an overview of what they said, but they generously gave their time to this exercise and so I decided to reproduce their answers – more or less verbatim – here.
The four questions were:
- What are the qualities that make Ying a good boss and leader?
- What have you most enjoyed about being a member of Ying's team?
- Have there been any specific challenges in your experience of working in the company?
- How do you see your future in the company and do you feel supported in your efforts to achieve that?

1) What are the qualities that make Ying a good boss and leader?
Ying is very sharp and has a keen eye for detail. Very little escapes his notice (in any matter!). He has a resilience and a self-belief that has carried himself and his team from the brink of collapse during the financial crisis to an ever-heightening zenith. His belief in his team and the company vision has endured, and consequently it is difficult to do anything other than trust his judgement and leadership.
