MERMAID

Mysterious as the ocean itself, mermaids have captured our imaginations for centuries. In folklore, mermaids tend to be mischief makers, often luring sailors to their underwater kingdoms, enchanting them and causing accidents and shipwrecks, and even squeezing the life out of men while trying to rescue them. Some stories, however, portray them as naive creatures who simply forget that humans can’t breathe underwater. Whatever the portrayal, mermaids make great visual subjects as they offer endless possibilities in style and design. It’s also fun and challenging to create a believable figure that appears to be more than just a fish tail pasted on a human torso.
