HUSKY
Step One This Husky is in a striking stance, so I aim to capture its powerful look in my drawing. I decide to include a dark background so the light, fluffy coat of the Husky stands out on the paper. (Remember that lighter dogs run the risk of getting lost in the white of the paper.) I begin by sketching a rough outline of the Husky. I don’t refine the sketch because I’ll put in the background first—I can fine tune the outlines later. However, I make sure to position the features accurately. I also mark the folds of skin that help indicate the twist in the upper body.
