This section presents
a showcase of graphic
design projects in
which drawing is an
intrinsic part and
plays a dramatic role.

Designers work with drawing every day
and in every medium: in print, interac-
tive, and environmental projects. From
integrating it as a method for planning and
ideation, exploiting it for unique manipu-
lation of typography or photography,
to its implementation as a medium of
communication itself—the possibilities for
enriching the design process are endless,
as is the range of stylistic approach and
the potential for robust visual voice.
The work shown here, by no means
exhaustive, demonstrates the commanding
presence of drawing in projects by
students and professional designers and
studios from around the world, each
as diverse as the methods and visual
languages that they explore.
