Tulip

There are several different types of tulip; this example has a definite cup shape and little petal detail. When drawing a flower, first determine its general direction of growth, or line of rhythm.

Use the same approach for these tulips that you used for the holly branch. Begin in step A by drawing a curved center guideline with an HB pencil, and indicate the bases of the flowers.

In step B, add angular guidelines for the flowers, and then sketch in the general placement for the leaves in step C.
