YOUR MANGA WORLD

Basic Manga Principles

Writing a Plot

Now that you know the basic manga drawing techniques, you are ready to create your own manga chronicles! Begin by jotting down your plot ideas. Every good plot has a chapter that explains the basic premise and introduces the main character. Then, a series of events build up to a climax before the action winds down to a resolution. See pages 2431 for story and character ideas. Consider your audience and the format that best fits the story you envision. You could write an epic shôjo romance or shônen adventure that spans several volumes. Maybe a four-panel gag comic, or yonkoma, fits your style better.

The format you choose sets the pace of the action in your manga story.
