Appendix A. Getting Help

Hard as it may be to believe, even a book as voluminous as this one may not answer all your questions about Dreamweaver. Fortunately, many other resources await you when a feature is giving you trouble.

Getting Online Help

Adobe puts all its resources for help with Dreamweaver on its support site, so you need an Internet connection to use any of them. Articles, videos, tutorials, and discussions abound, so Adobe gives you several ways to navigate its support system, depending on what you’re looking for. Some might say there are so many options that you may need help for the help section. If you’re in that camp, read on.

Dreamweaver lists five choices at the top of the Help menu. (At the bottom of the menu, you’ll find Creative Cloud tools that let you sign into and manage your account.) The help options are:

  • What’s New In Dreamweaver. Adobe shows off the features it added to the most recent update to the program. The features are displayed in brief animations with minimal text. You won’t find a complete “how to” tutorial here, but you will get a first look at the new features. If something looks different since the last time you updated your copy of the program (page xviii), check here to see what’s up. Adobe usually debuts significant updates to Dreamweaver in the spring and fall, so that’s when you’re likely to find new features.

  • New Feature Videos. This page provides links to videos that explain how to use Dreamweaver’s newest features. The videos are professionally ...
