What career should you choose if you want to change the world? Over the past few years, we’ve presented five options to almost five thousand people around the world. The majority, about 35 percent, choose starting a company. The next most popular answer is becoming a teacher, drawing 30 percent of the vote. About 20 percent think that the best path is to join a not-for-profit. Another 10 percent believe that working for the public sector is the route to impact (interestingly, this holds relatively constant across cultures). There’s only 5 percent left.
