Using Copy CD in Nero Express
In Smart Start’s Favorites panel, select Copy CD.
Click the green arrow to accept the default (Nero Express).
INTRODUCTION
HINT
Nero uses both Nero Express and
Nero Burning ROM to copy CDs
and DVDs. We’ll burn a copy in
Nero Express and show you how
to begin the same process in Nero
Burning ROM.
Using One CD or DVD
Burner
If you have only one CD or
DVD recorder, choosing the
same recorder for source and
destination will tell Nero to first
copy your files to a temporary
directory on the hard drive and
then complete the copy.

Choosing a Destination
Recorder
In Nero Burning ROM, you
need to select a different desti-
nation recorder, like an image
file, before opening the New
Compilation window.
Click the drop-down list to select a Destination Drive.
Click Copy.
Nero Express begins copying the source disc to the destination you selected (disc,
temporary file, or a disc image).

Copying Options
For a destination recorder you
can select a second CD or DVD
recorder, or the Image Recorder
to create a saved disc image.
The easiest way to copy a disc is
using Nero Express with two CD
or DVD burners. But you can also
use just one drive, and have the
information first copied to a tem-
porary file or disc image.
Be Careful with
Copyrights
Remember that reproducing
copyrighted material, whether it
is music, video, or computer
programs, can get you into a
lot of trouble. Check the license
rules of software to determine
your rights.

Quick Copy is Risky
Selecting Quick Copy in the
panel will bypass making a
temporary disc image prior to
burning, and may result in
errors. If you’re really in a
hurry, and can afford to waste
a blank CD, try Quick Copy to
see if your system supports it.
75
Or, if you prefer, in Nero Burning ROM, you click to choose CD Copy for a new
compilation.
Check the destination drive to make sure it’s the recorder you want to use.
Choose the source drive from the drop-down list.
Click Copy to begin the burn.

Reburning a Disc Image
File
By saving your disc image to a
file first, you can re-burn the
same information again without
opening the compilation.
