Chapter 12. Sharing Events and Birthdays
Facebook lets you share more than just status updates and photos. You can also share upcoming events—that is, create and announce events online and then invite specific Facebook friends. It’s a great way to manage parties, meetings, and the like, all within the Facebook infrastructure.
The most common type of event is a birthday, and Facebook helps out there, too. Facebook will notify you of your friends’ upcoming birthdays and make it easy for you to send your birthday greetings. Facebook will even announce your birthday to your friends—so sit back and wait for those well-wishes to arrive!
