Part 9. Watching Videos in iTunes and on Your Ipod

Although iTunes is primarily a music and audio tool, you can use it to download and play video programs, as long as the programs are in a compatible format, such as QuickTime, MPEG-4, or H.264. You can watch videos in a small window within iTunes, or view them using your computer’s full screen.

iTunes supports video formats including QuickTime and MPEG-4 (video files with .mov, .m4v, or .mp4 file extensions that are viewable in QuickTime Player). The fifth generation iPods are the first and only members of the iPod family to support video playback.
