Part 15. Burning Discs with iTunes

iTunes is both an input and an output application. That means that besides ripping CDs and importing files, you can burn your own CDs, either to play on a home or car stereo, or as backups for your computer-based music collection.

iTunes can burn standard audio CDs, MP3 CDs, data CDs, and data DVDs. You need a CD or DVD burner installed in or attached to your Mac or PC. To complete the tasks in this chapter, you also want to get a supply of blank CDs or DVDs that are compatible with your disc burner.

Different disc formats can be played in CD/DVD players that are compatible with the format you choose. For example, most CD players can play the audio CDs you burn with iTunes, but might not be able to play MP3 ...
