Appendix A. Installing Windows to an Empty Drive

Although most Windows 8 users have a preinstalled version on a PC or tablet or have upgraded from a previous Windows version, it’s also possible to install Windows 8 to a bare drive. It’s not difficult, and if you prefer to build your PC yourself, it’s the preferred method. Here’s how.
