Windows 8 includes Internet Explorer 11 (IE11), the latest version of Microsoft’s web browser. You can access IE11 from the Start screen’s Modern UI or from the classic Windows desktop. This chapter shows you how to perform basic web-surfing tasks with IE11 from the Start screen.

You can start Internet Explorer 11 from the Start screen. By default, the Internet Explorer tile is visible without scrolling, so you can launch it as soon as you log in to Windows 8.1.
