Windows 8.1 includes Internet Explorer 11 (IE11), the latest version of Microsoft’s web browser. When you launch IE11 from the Start screen, you are using a touch-optimized version of the browser that has limited support for plug-ins. If you use IE11 from the Windows desktop, however, you have a full-featured web browser that fully supports Adobe Flash, a wider variety of plug-ins, favorites, and other familiar Internet Explorer features.
