Tips for creating content that will help you avoid penalties from search engines.

Along with evaluating your keywords, title tag, and meta description tag, search engines will also search for keywords within the content of your web site when determining where you should rank on their site. Although search engines will evaluate all of the pages within your web site, this chapter will focus on your homepage because that's usually where the search engines will begin evaluating your site.

When talking about home page content, I'm talking about the written words found on the main page of your web site. When search engines evaluate a home page, they look for words that frequently appear in the content of the page. To win the search engine game, you need to incorporate keywords into the content of your home page. Later in this chapter, you'll have the opportunity to evaluate your current home page content and look for ways to make it more keyword friendly.
