This book has focused on the use of AspectJ within the Eclipse IDE, but AspectJ is also made available as a command-line compiler by the AspectJ project. This appendix covers how to use the command-line compiler, which can prove useful for simple tests, scripting, and automated builds.

AspectJ is distributed as an executable Jar file available from the project home page at http://www.eclipse.org/aspectj.
