In the late fall, with the end of my journey in sight, a few schools called and asked if I could stop in for a visit in Houston, Fort Worth, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Phoenix on my way home, and I politely declined. Eighty-nine days was long enough. I was worn out, my memory banks were full, and I wanted to get home, see my wife, enjoy a family Christmas, and start to put all my thoughts together.
