Your networking goals

One of the main things that distinguishes brilliant networkers from ordinary networkers is that they have a clear idea of what they want to gain from the activities they do. They know what they want. This might simply be to meet new friends. It could be to secure a job or perhaps get a promotion or change career. Maybe you want to meet someone who has inspired you.

Whatever your goal, it helps to be very clear about what you want, so it’s useful to identify and set clear goals. Unless you know what you want to achieve from networking, just doing it isn’t likely to achieve very much.
