5Interviewing

This is a skill for which many of us receive little training; there is an assumption that anyone who has been through an interview will automatically be able to interview others. This is a misconception: conducting an effective interview that achieves predefined objectives requires particular communication skills. The way in which you use these skills will vary according to the type of interview you are involved in; for example, you will use a different approach in appraisal and selection interviews.
