Using MySQL Replication
The use of MySQL replication is instrumental in many practical MySQL environments and is generally considered as a primary backup and first viable fail-over option in a higher availability environment. Under normal operating conditions, MySQL replication may be sufficient; however, there are a number of limitations that must be carefully confirmed and verified for replication to be part of a valid backup and recovery strategy.
