In this chapter, we will explore some of the features I find useful in easing the burden of database administration. As with most things in life, there are hard ways to do things and there are easier ways. Correspondingly, there are tradeoffs to be made as well between the two. Sometimes the hard way is the only way because it gives you a degree of control you really need. Other times, the hard way is just that—the hard way.
