The Spectrum of Remoteness

Let’s begin by understanding the different positions that companies can take on their support for remote working. And because the diagram worked so well earlier in the book, we’re going to use a spectrum once again. Except this time it’s a spectrum of remoteness.

But before we go any further, it’s worth pointing out that, in reality, a company’s classification may be somewhat fuzzy. Some companies may lie in-between each definition. Some may be at one end of the spectrum but regularly use practices from the other end. Everyone’s mileage may vary.
