Camera Controls

The controls and facilities you need on a camera really depend on how you are going to use it. For instance, while a news cameraman may welcome automatic circuits that prevent the picture from being accidentally over- or underexposed, in the studio, this problem is more effectively handled by the shader/video control operator at a central control unit.

Camera adjustments

There are several ways In which you can control the camera’s picture:

• Altering the zoom’s lens angle – By turning a ring on the lens barrel; or a control on a pan bar; or switches (‘shot box’, rocker switch). This will vary the lens’ focal length, and adjust:

How much of the scene appears in the shot (coverage/field of view).
