13 Improving the Appearance
Flex, and especially Flex 4, make improving the appearance of an application quite easy. Primarily through styles and skins, you can customize the whole user interface to your liking.
The chapter begins with an introduction to creating graphics using MXML. In itself, just being able to draw a rectangle or circle in an application doesn’t seem that significant, but when coupled with the concept of skins, you can dramatically change the application’s appearance.
The second subject in the chapter is styling applications using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). If you’ve used CSS in a Web page, you’ll have no problems with applying CSS to Flex apps.
