So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Appendix A. Installation
The first step in working with any product is downloading and installing it. In this appendix, we download, install, configure, and run Elasticsearch and Kibana. The installation instructions are available on the book’s GitHub repository (http://mng.bz/gBmn) and on the book’s website (https://www.manning.com/books/elasticsearch-in-action-second-edition)
By default, the 8.x version of Elasticsearch comes with security enabled. For simplicity, and so security doesn’t get in our way, we disable this feature in this appendix. However, do not disable security in production. Edit config/elasticsearch.yml to add the following property at the end of the file:
xpack.security.enabled: false
