A.1 Introduction
Throughout this book, we have dealt with differential equations that describe the dynamic behavior of electric machines. Solution of these equations yields the response of the machine to the supply and load applied to it. Given the form and quantity of dynamic equations of a machine, it is evident that obtaining a closed form, analytical solution is a daunting and prohibitively difficult task. The addition of nonlinear and switching power electronic circuits only aggravates the complexity of the problem.
