Abstract

In this chapter, fuel cell system fundamentals, fuel cell thermodynamics and electrochemical processes, and a comparative summary of the major types of fuel cells have been introduced first. Fuel cell modeling and equivalent circuit models are then briefly discussed. Fuel cell distributed power generation systems are presented for both grid-connected and standalone applications.
