Appendix A: Fundamental Principles of Electric Utility Resource Planning
Throughout the book we have introduced a number of concepts that are important to utilities in their ongoing work of planning for future resources that are needed to maintain a reliable and cost-effective utility system. Of these concepts, I believe there are a handful of concepts that can be viewed as truly “fundamental principles” of electric utility integrated resource planning.
These fundamental principles, discussed previously in the book, are listed again in this appendix in order to provide a handy reference. In addition, a few comments about how to “apply” these fundamental principles are provided.
