So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 7. Touchy-Feely Stuff
The final chapter provides an overview of the people skills needed to become a successful engineer. It begins with a description of the hierarchy of a typical business or organization and the types of people at each level—bosses, peers, and lower level employees—and the strategies for interacting with each personality type. The next section describes ways that introverts (a common engineering personality trait) can become more extroverted to achieve greater success. This section is followed by a review of basic communication skills, including verbal, nonverbal, and written communication. It also covers management skills and how to be an ideal employee.
