Improvement of System Performances Using FACTS and HVDC
As the existing power system has not evolved at the rate of increase in demand and power transmission complexities, compensation in the form of advanced power electronic devices like flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) is explored. Modern power systems suffer from poor stability margin, low efficiency and loadability limit.
