Abstract:
This chapter first describe the nature of nanodielectrics, before moving on to consider the range of properties that these material systems are capable of exhibiting and what potential benefits these confer in high voltage electrical equipment used in power transmission applications. A key feature is that if significant property enhancements are to be achieved, then optimal control of the nano-particulate dispersion, the particle-polymer matrix interface and processing are essential.
