Dyakonov-Tamm Waves
7.1 Introduction
Having considered in detail Dyakonov waves in Chapter 4 and Tamm waves in Chapter 5, let us now turn to what is essentially an amalgamation of these two types of surface waves: Dyakonov-Tamm waves. By definition, at least one of the two partnering materials is required to be both anisotropic and periodically nonhomogeneous. Periodic nonhomogeneity of an anisotropic partnering material distinguishes Dyakonov-Tamm waves from Dyakonov waves.
