Abstract:

In this chapter, the use of electrospinning for the fabrication of materials for wound healing applications will be discussed. There is a definite overlap between wound healing and skin tissue regeneration, as discussed in Chapter 14. However, this chapter will concentrate on materials that can provide the optimum environment for natural healing to take place, with more emphasis on antimicrobial properties than the interaction between the cells and the materials.
