Abstract
There are four phases of providing information service: enunciation of exact demand of the users, searching and identification of relevant literature, collection of pertinent documents, and/or processing and arranging of information in presentable form and dissemination, i.e., transmission of information or information bearing documents to the users. In the first phase, if any user is unable to express his/her demands in clear-cut terms, he/she should be helped to do so by the information professional through discussion and questioning.
