The digital model at an advanced stage of design development is useful for the study of architectural components as well as for visualisation within the design team and in communication with the client.

The interactive plan and section manipulations give rise to a reference surface that generates all subsequent solid geometries by offsetting from it. The design consultants receive this surface as their template for the various building systems’ development.
The digital modelling begins with an arrangement of parametrically controllable tangent arcs that can be manipulated to refine the architectural form and respond to various performance requirements. The model at this stage is built by the specialist modelling group by programming within the source code of the CAD package. This initial investment of effort is then the basis of extensive collaborative studies by the designers.
