25.1 Introduction

Traditional Asian medicine has a long history of curing various diseases, thereby gaining more interests from medical scientists as an alternative medicine that can complement the Western medicine to establish a new paradigm of medical science. The Korean herbal cosmetics were produced by applying the Oriental medicine to the cosmetic science, and they are growing in the world cosmetics market. They contain ingredients from medicinal plants that are listed in traditional medical books.
