Blockchain is currently being explored for use in IoT projects. Blockchain can be used for security applications in IoT projects. By merging blockchain with IoT, the data collected by smart devices in the IoT network can be securely stored. Data is the most valuable component of an IoT network and securing it using blockchain can be vital in improving the IoT network. A few IoT applications and examples are shown in Figure 2.1.
