The Human Library, or “Menneskebiblioteket” as it is called in Danish, was developed in Copenhagen in the spring of 2000. In this library, instead of borrowing a book to read a story, you borrow a person.
Started as a project at a festival by four social justice advocates and friends, this project has become a global phenomenon and now exists in over 70 countries.
