Trustworthy Computing
Security management, more than any of the other four key management areas, is a cross-disciplinary challenge. Issues of privacy, confidentiality, and security cross technology, public policy, and corporate policy boundaries. Given the cross-disciplinary issues of developing architectures and technologies for dramatically more secure networks and systems, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has launched the Center for Trustworthy Networked Systems (CTNS). CTNS is a multidisciplinary research and education center dedicated to creating networked information systems that offer the degree of trust needed for them to be relied on in the critical roles they play in our daily lives.
